Franklin  Reed, 75, of Defiance, passed away on  Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Promedica Defiance Regional Hospital.

He was born on December 23, 1940 to James and Ella (Kiessling) Reed in Defiance. Frank was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, and a former member of Bryan Eagles. He served our country in the National Guard.  Frank was a fireman for Jewell,  Defiance, and  South Richland Fire Departments, retiring as Fire Captain in 1992. He also worked at Ann Furniture in Ridgeville Corners until its closure in 2003, Loretta's Limosine Service until 2004, and Haver Furniture until February, 2005.

Frank is survived by his sons, David J. (Nicole) Reed of Spencerville, Indiana, William T. Reed of Fayette, and Anthony J. Kasavage IV of  Fremont, daughters, Cynthia (Russ) Vance, and Diane Reed, both of Defiance,  7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella and James Reed, and sister, Shirley Kretz All services are private.
