Frances M. Scheele, 94, of Angola, IN, formerly of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Northern Lakes Nursing Home, Angola, IN. She was born on November 14, 1919 to Stenny and Erin (Bertwell) Haas in Buffalo, NY. On November 14, 1939 she married Henry F. Scheele and he passed away on December 18, 1993. Frances was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society. She and her husband owned and and operated Scheele Fire Extinguisher Sales and Service of Defiance from 1958 - 1978. Frances is survived by her sons: Jerry (Dorthy) Scheele of Angola, IN, Henry (Kay) Scheele of Yorktown, VA, James (Mary) Scheele of Defiance, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 24, 2014, at 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with Rev. Donald L Luhring officiating. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family request memorials be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance.
