Floyd E. Burkhart Floyd E. Burkhart, 71, of Oakwood, Oh passed away Monday, February 14th, 2011 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Oh. Floyd and his wife were in an auto accident Friday night, near Lima , on their way back from Florida and were then hospitalized. He was born in Paulding County, on November 21, 1939, he was the son of the late Albert and Gladys (Thrasher) Burkhart. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Defiance. Floyd married Marilyn (Critten) Burkhart on Aug. 16, 1958 and she survives. He worked as a truck driver at Cooper Hatchery, a truck driver for the Crescent News and was a life long farmer. Besides his loving wife Marilyn, of 52 years surviving are Daughter: Lisa Burkhart of Defiance Sons: Terry (Connie) Burkhart of Defiance, and Mike Burkhart of Defiance Sister: Margaret (Dean) Wineland of Ney. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren. Preceded in death by a sister Catherine Clemens and his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church, 11:00 a.m. Friday Feb. 18, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Friends are invited to call Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Service Thursday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery , Defiance.
