Float O Meade, 82, of Defiance passed away Friday morning, July 13, 2012, at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient
Hospice Center.

He was born June 26, 1930, in Coeburn, Virginia and was the son of Joe and Masel (Booher) Meade,

On November 18, 1953, he married Marie Baldridge and she recently preceded him in death on June 16,
2012.

Float is survived by his five daughters; Larna Meade of Defiance, Donna (Donald) Dettling of Dexter, MI,
Tricia Peoples of Defiance,  Kartha (Jim) Ray of Springerville, AZ, Velda (Paul) Freund of Cincinnati, his son Joe
(Christy) Meade of Ft. Wayne, IN, 11 Grandchildren; Barney, Adrian, Samantha, Clayton, Caleb, Haley, Autumn, Emma, Conner, Nya and Riddick, 4 Great Grandchldren; Iris, Reilley, Jane and Brody, two brothers; Clifford (Barbara)
Meade of Ayersville, Shannon (Winnie) Meade of New York and a sister Phyllis
Dua of Annapolis, MD.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen and a brother Ivil Meade.

Float served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked at GM Powertrain for thirty
years, retiring in 1983. Float enjoyed making string instruments, playing guitar and singing country music. He devoted his life to his wife and family.

Visitation will be Monday, July 16, 2012 from 3 to 8pm at the Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home,
Defiance.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 10:00am in the funeral home with Pastor Max Begley
officiating.

Burial will follow in Ayersville Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Hospice.
