Felipa C. Martinez, age 87, peacefully entered Heaven with her family by her side on August 2, 2014 in Defiance, Ohio. Felipa was born on February 5, 1927 in Martindale, Texas to Francisco Cordero and Felicita Ramirez Cordero.

In 1954, Felipa married the love of her life, Antonio V. Martinez, whom she met while working at a pecan factory in Texas. They lived in Texas and raised their family until they moved to Defiance, Ohio where she spent the remainder of her life. After marriage, Felipa devoted her life to taking care of her husband and children.

Felipa was preceded in death by Sisters: Antonia, Tina, and Frances, Brothers: Guadalupe, Jesse, and Jose, Son-in-law: Carlos Hernandez.

Felipa is survived by her husband of 60 years, Antonio V. Martinez, Brothers and Sisters: Ramona, Susanna, and Juanita, Children (8): Juan Antonio (Lydia) Martinez from San Antonio, Texas, Nino (Donna) Martinez from Paulding, Ohio, Alicia (Carlos) Hernandez from Wauseon, Ohio, Ruben (Angie) Martinez from Winder, Georgia, Maria (Tony) Crespo from Austintown, Ohio, Linda Lou (Barak) Bower from Naples, Florida, Leticia (Bobby) Hernandez from Wauseon, Ohio, and Noberto (Julie) Martinez from Schertz, Texas, Grandchildren (27): Juan, Felicitas, Rogelio, Paulina, Andrea, Brian, Eric, Carlos Jr., Maria Eva, Matthew, Stephanie, Robert Jr., Lena, Sarah, Sarita, Christina, Tony, Nancy, Jose, Brian, Belinda, Cameron, Troy, Taylor, Erin, Aaron, Stacia, and Karina, Great Grandchildren (26): Oliver, Selena, Dominic, Bella, Bryce, Abigail, Ainsley, Johnathan, Mia, Tré, Kiari, Alyssa (Bailey), Michael, Christopher, Marcus, Katrina, Davy, Elijah, Isaiah, Marija, Jose, Mack, Xhesika, Andy, Ajdin, and Xhoni.

Felipa thoroughly enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spoiling them, and she always cooked amazing meals for her loved ones.

Visitation hours will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home located at 529 Jefferson Avenue, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, in the funeral home with Fr. Todd Dominique officiating.  Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.
