Faviola A. Sanchez, age 75 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance, Ohio. She was born on May 27, 1948 to the late Fernando and Librada (Garcia) Canales in Osceola, Arkansas. Faviola was a 1966 graduate of Defiance High School. On December 2, 1967 she married the love of her life Miquel Sanchez, who survives. Faviola was a faithful member of  St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who put her family above all else. She will be greatly missed and always remembered for her loyalty and love for her family. Faviola is survived by her loving husband, Miquel Sanchez of Defiance, her son, Marc (Brenda) Sanchez of Defiance, grandson, Jacob (Becca) Sanchez of Cleveland, OH, and her sisters, Elva Canales of Napoleon, OH, Yolanda Sustaita of Auburn, IN, and Ayden (Carlos) Marroquin of Toledo, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Garcia and Ginny Bateman, and brothers Bob, Hector, Abel, Ray and Fred Canales. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Vigil Service at 5:30 pm. One hour of visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Schaffer Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Jason D'Souza officiating. Faviola will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.
