Eva F. "Eve" Andrew, age 87 of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Parkview Bryan Hospital to take her next journey.

She was born in Defiance, Ohio on October 13, 1938 to the late Karyle and Marie (Schuck) Smith. Eve was a 1956 graduate of Defiance High School. On April 24, 1960 she married Jon J. Andrew, who preceded her in death on November 13, 2008.

Eve was a faithful and active member of Union Chapel Church of God in Bryan, Ohio. She worked for over 40 years at Four County Career Center in the cafeteria and loved serving lunch to so many good students. She was hired in 1969 on the first day they opened the doors to the new school. When she was at home, Eve could be found in the garden at 7:00 am, listening to the birds and enjoying nature. She enjoyed baking and socializing.

Eve is survived by her sons, Jeffery Andrew of Stem, NC, Larry (Cheryl) Andrew of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Jon K. Andrew of Defiance, her grandchildren, Tonya (Eric) Delgado and Mikel (Lauren) Taylor, great-grandson Jacob Delgado, and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James Justin Andrew, brothers, Karl and Roy Smith, granddaughter, Amanda Andrew, and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 3-5 pm at Union Chapel Church of God in Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 21st at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with Pastor Dennis Jones officiating. There will be an additional hour of visitation before the service at the funeral home. Eve will be laid to rest in Riverview Memory Gardens.
