Eugene E. Hechler
Eugene E. Hechler, 90, of Defiance and formerly of Toledo, passed away Friday, October 31st, 2014 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born in West Virginia on October 21, 1924, he was the son of the late Elmer V. and Clara Mae (Bird) Hechler.
Eugene married Maxine (Marckel) Hechler on Oct. 17, 1973 and she died Nov. 17, 2010.
He served in Germany and Japan in the U.S. Army in WW II.
Eugene had worked for at the Continental Coffee Company in Toledo for many years. He had enjoyed country music and playing pool.
Surviving are
step daughter: Vivian (William) Segur of Paulding,
step son: Alan (Eva) Bird of Defiance,
7 step grandchildren, 13 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, 2 brothers; Sherwood and Robert Hechler and 3 sisters; Mary Roberta Blake, Luella Neal and Joanna Walsh.
Services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, Defiance, Oh. at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 5th, with Rev. Randy Wilson officiating.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday 12-2 P.M. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Dupont, Oh.
