Obituary

Eugene P. Brannan Eugene (Gene) P. Brannan, age 80, of Defiance, passed away at 11:39 A:M , Sunday, December 28th, 2008 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. Born in Montpelier, Ohio on September 16, 1928, he was the son of the late Paul and Verna (Oyer) Brannan He was a member of Trinity United Methodist in Defiance. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1946 to 1948. Gene married Lila (Hoffman) Brannan April 17, 1949 and she survives. He worked at L.E. Smith Co. of Bryan, Ohio for for 33 years retiring in 1992. He had also worked for Schmunk and Beavers Building Supply, formerly of Defiance. He was a former resident of Panama City, Florida for 13 years, a member of VFW Post 3360 in Defiance. Besides his wife surviving are four Daughters: Kyle (Paul) Krutch of Mc Minnville,Oregon, April Cooper of Holly Springs, North Carolina, Cindy (Paul) Guillaume of Newnon, Georgia, Jean (Daniel) Dawsey of Panama City, Florida Sister: Dorothy Sprow of Sherwood, Ohio Brother: Larry (Angela) Beavers of Fall River, Mass. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son Greg, daughter Julie, stepfather Ted Beavers, brother Kenneth Brannan and stepbrother Don Beavers. Memorial Services 11:00 A:M Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, with Rev. Scott Snyder officiating. Friends are invited to call Wednesday 10-11 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home.
