He was born on May 6, 1937 to Emory and Irene (Stallard) Meade in Flatwoods, Virginia. On August 24, 1959 he married Judy L. (Keel) Meade, who passed away on January 25, 2008.

Eston worked at General Motors in Defiance. He was a member of UAW Local 211 Retiree Club, and the Oakwood Opry Barn. He enjoyed gardening, turkey shoots, and was a lifetime handyman.

Eston is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Gerken of Defiance, sons, Ron (Chris) Meade of Defiance, and Solomon Meade of Bryan, Ohio, grandchildren Tyler Gerken, Sarah Baumgart, Jonathan Meade, Kevin Meade, and Jason Meade, a great-grandson, Evan Meade, brother, Banner (Diane) Meade of Holgate, Ohio, sisters Opal Bortz of Holgate, Ohio, Wilma (Kenneth) Hall of Spring Hill, FL, Christine (James) Meyers of Crestline, Ohio, and Ardna (Jim) Helberg of Delta, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Judy, granddaughter, Heather Tipton, brother, Richard Meade, and sister, Marlene Holbrook.

Visitation will be held  from 1-8 pm on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 13, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Max Begley officiating.

The family requests memorials be directed to the Defiance Public Library.
