Obituary

Estella Ilene Shafer Frost, 92, of Defiance, passed away on  Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance. She was born on October 26, 1922 to James and Amelia (Stork) Shafer in Paulding County. Estella was a lifelong member of the Brethern Church and graduated from Oakwood High School. During her lifetime she worked on the Manhattan Project at Westinghouse in Lima during W.W.II and later at Zeller Corporation and the Grocery Company in Defiance. She was a longtime member of the DAR with her daughters. She married Clarence Frost in 1942 and was married for 58 years. Five children were born from this union.  The three surviving are: Dr. Mary Ann Frost-Mallow of Palm Harbor, Florida, Kevin Frost of Continental, and Dr. Melanie J. (Frost) Wilhelm of Chesapeake,Virginia. Surviving her are eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one sister, Marianne Baringer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence Frost, daughter in infancy, Diane Frost, son, Bradley Frost, four brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 6, 2015 at the funeral home, with Pastor Gene Yenser officiating. Burial will take place in the Monroe Cemetery in Continental, Ohio.
