Esta L Perdue, 85, of Bryan went to be with her Lord and Savior and surrounded by her family on Friday afternoon, December 7, 2012 in the Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for 17 years.

She was born May 24, 1927 in Allen County and was the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Mason) Dunlap.

On November 17, 1945 she married Ralph Perdue and he preceded her in death August 9, 1980.

Esta is survived by her seven children; daughter Carolyn (Harold) Rex of Cecil, son William (Karen) Perdue of Defiance, daughter Virginia "Ginny" (Ronald Martin) Goebel of Stryker, son Michael (Elaine) Perdue of Stryker, son Jeff (Beth) Perdue of Defiance, son David (Karen Sue) Perdue of Bryan, daughter Nancy (Mike) Goebel of Stryker, 19 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, two brothers Edward Dunlap of Michigan, James (Judy) Dunlap of Williams Center, four sisters; Ruby (Ted) Reagle of Alvordton, OH, Thelma (Roy) Stecher of Bryan, Zelma (Bill) Blakely of Bryan and Cathy (Bob) Dancer of Ft. Wayne, IN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Matthew Perdue and two sisters Helen Ladd and Edna Harmon LaRue.

Esta was a member of the New Hope Church, Bryan. She enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. Esta loved talking to people  and ministering to them in the nursing home. She truly enjoyed being with her family.

Family will receive friends Monday, December 10, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm in the Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 10:30am in the funeral home with Rev. Eric Burkhardt from the Life Changing Realities Fellowship.

Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental.
