Ervin (Pete) Druhot, 93, of Englewood, Fla. passed away in the Hospice House in Venice, Fla. on August 29, 2013 after a brief illness. Ervin was born on October 12, 1919 to Ervin Eugene and Maggie Druhot,
in Tedrow, Ohio
.
He married Mary C. Behm, the mother of his two children, Michael Eugene Druhot of Nettle Lake who survives and Lisa Marie (deceased).
In 1972 he married Betty J. (Wiles) Showalter who survives. He is also survived by four step sons, William (Cheryl) Showalter of Niceville, Fla. , Jeffery (Mary) Showalter of Englewood, Fla., David (Kim) Showalter of Bryan,Teddy (Sharron)Showalter of La Quinta, CA, and two step daughters Joyce Hoffman of Marianna, Fl, and Jannette (Harrison) Huggins of Lincolnton, NC, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceeded in death by a step son Lowell Showalter and step daughter Peggy Showalter, 4 brothers and 2 sisters as well as his first wife, Mary C. Behm.
Ervin served in WW II in the Night Guard. He was employed at the Aro Corporation in Bryan, OH for many years. In his younger years, Pete enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at Hatchett Lake in Michigan. He was a member of Federal Order of Eagles since 1939 and was a Golden Eagle.
Funeral Services for Ervin P. Druhot will be held at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 12:00 Noon, with visitation from 10-12.
