Elsie M Navin, 88, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Brookview Healthcare Center, Defiance.

She was born on February 4, 1925 to Dewey and Marie (Bouer) Marks in Toledo, OH. On July 21, 1948 she married John C. Navin and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2004.

Elsie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Gary) Leach of Defiance, Chris (Mark) Smith of Kingwood, TX, Peg (Jeff) Hahn of Defiance, son, Tom (Laura) Navin of Medina, OH, brother, Gene (Mary) Marks of Ft. Wayne, IN, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John and her parents.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-8p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. A vigil service will be held at 7p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to Defiance County Hospice.
