Elizabeth M Mumy, 89, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Kingsbury House, Defiance.

She was born on July 19, 1924 to Berl and Ida (Miller) Bonner in Saginaw, MI.  On September 20, 1944 she married George D. Mumy and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2004

Elizabeth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the LLS at Zion.  She was also a member of the Ladies' Oriental Shrine, N.W. Shrine Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Elks Ladies Auxiliary and the Defiance Hospital Auxiliary.  Elizabeth worked at Cooper Tire & Rubber,  National Automotive from and at the Brickell School as a teacher's aide.

Elizabeth is survived by her, son, Dale (Pam) Mumy of Defiance, daughter, Elaine (Tom) Conley of Pittsburgh, PA, 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George D Mumy, sons, Jeff & Berl Mumy, sister, Thelma Walton and 2 brothers in infancy.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m.Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.on Friday, August 23, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, Defiance with Deacon Richard Anderson officiating.  Entombment will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

The family requests memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
