Eileen Anne Davenport, 80, of Defiance, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at her home in Defiance.

She was born on August 27, 1936 to Raymond and Selma (Todt) Parker in St. Marys, Ohio. Eileen was a 1954 graduate of  Defiance High School. On November 9, 1957 she married John Davenport, who resides in Defiance.

Eileen was a member of  Trinity United Methodist Church. She worked at A.R.A. Food Services, Defiance College and Bunny Bread in Defiance. Her favorite job was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bird watching, knitting and crocheting.

Eileen will be sadly missed by her loving spouse of 59 years, John Davenport of Defiance, son, Brian (Colleen Dempsey) Davenport of Defiance, daughters, Lori (Darrel Schoenauer) Greear of Defiance, and  Lisa (Brian Hanrahan) Davenport of LaQuinta, CA , grandchildren, Chelsea Greear (Michael Clarke), Emily (Phil)  Smith, Margaid Hanrahan, and Flynn Hanrahan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Madilyn Manahan and Judy Hammon, and nephew Marty Manahan.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Services will follow at 12:00 noon at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to CHP Hospice of Defiance, or The Lymphoma Society.
