Edward V. Roehrig, age 62 of Defiance, passed away on Monday morning, May 6, 2019 at his home in Defiance, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 6, 1957 to the late Jack and Charlene (Bohner) Roehrig in Defiance. Ed earned his Associate's Degree and owned and operated R & H Leasing Company. He was a taxi driver for J & M Cabs in Defiance. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ed will be sadly missed by his son, Matthew (Julie) Roehrig of Defiance, two daughters, Laura (Darren) Scott of Toledo, and Victoria Roehrig of Defiance, 7 grandchildren,  four brothers, Joseph Roehrig of Milwaukee, WI, John (Cindy) Roehrig of Defiance, Michael Roehrig of San Antonio, TX, and Matthew (Brenda) Roehrig of Pensicola, FL, the love of his life, Ann Long, her children, Cara (Eric) Deck and Trisha Wojtyna, all of Defiance, and their four children, who he loved and accepted as his own. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Roehrig. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Monday, May 20, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 5:00 pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Donald L. Luhring officiating. Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church.
