Edward Ray Nester, 56, of Defiance, passed away on  Monday, December 18, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on May 24, 1961 to Robert and Josie (Dalton) Nester in Bryan, OH. He was a 1979 graduate of Fairview High School. On June 5, 1993 he married RoxAnn (Antoine) Nester, who resides in Defiance.

Ed owned and operated Nester Soil Sampling Company, He was a member of Eagles #372, VFW in Bryan, and was a life member of AMVETS #2489. He enjoyed camping, biking, skeet shooting, the Chicago Bears, and Rolling Rock 33. He bartended at the Eagles in Defiance. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ed loved to have fun, and he will be missed not only by his family, but by his beloved dog, Rebel, and all who knew and loved him.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of  24 years, RoxAnn Nester, daughter, Lindsay Pelland, son, John (Amanda) Clellan, III, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister, Mardell (Adrian) Nester-Peavy, brother, Joel (Beckie) Nester, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Josie and Robert Nester, and a niece.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Defiance Eagles from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017.
