Edward K. Eitniear, 62, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday evening, November 17, 2018 at his home in Defiance. He was born on July 25, 1956 to Kenneth and Dorothy Eitniear in Defiance. Ed worked for over 29 years at Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon, until his retirement in 2011. He was a member of Defiance Eagles #372 and was a social member of VFW #3360. He took time everyday to read his Bible. In his leisure time he enjoyed boating, playing euchre, gambling, and playing lottery scratch-off tickets. Ed will be sadly missed by his son, Kyle Eitniear (Jen Hostutler) of Defiance, daughters, Heather (Shane) Merillat of Cibolo, TX, and Amber (Jason) Homier of Edgerton, Ohio, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from 2-7 pm on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm at the funeral home, with Deb Miller officiating. Memorials are suggested to Defiance VFW. Post #3360.
