Eduardo Ovalle Sr., died on Friday, the 21st of June 2019 in Defiance, Ohio, surrounded by family. The loving husband and father of four passed away at the age of 88. Eduardo was born on October 13, 1930, in Donna, Texas to José Ángel and Rita Espinoza Ovalle. He is a retired Army veteran and worked at the General Motors Powertrain Defiance Foundry for 28 years. Following his retirement from General Motors, Eduardo served as a Deacon for the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville (Texas) and the Catholic Diocese of Toledo (Ohio). Eduardo married Celia Montemayor Ovalle . Eduardo is survived by his wife and their children: Eduardo Ovalle Jr. and Veronica Martínez Ovalle of Defiance, Ohio; Janie Ovalle Eldridge and Rick Eldridge of Defiance, Ohio; Sofia Ovalle Delgado and Dan Delgado of Richmond, Texas; and Anita Ovalle García and Luis García of Tokyo, Japan. He is also survived by his three sisters Altagracia, Isabel, and Alicia; and by his nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Eduardo was very dedicated to his work as an ordained Deacon of the Catholic Church and showed his genuine compassion by serving the community through his services at St. John's Catholic Church in Defiance, Ohio, and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna, Texas. Eduardo had an infectious smile and a kind and compassionate spirit. He had a great sense of humor and could always be looked to for words of encouragement and expert advice, usually ending in his playful signature catchphrase, "you little rascal." Eduardo was preceded in death by his father, José Ángel; his mother, Rita; his brothers Juan and Francisco; his sister, Amselma; and his two heavenly children Raul and Armando. Friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances of Eduardo with the family In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Eduardo's memory to hospice providing organizations in Ohio and Texas
