Eduardo "Chip D" DeLeon, Sr., 48, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.

He was born in Defiance on December 26, 1965 to the late Jose G. DeLeon, Jr. and Irene (Medrano) DeLeon of Wauseon. On November 7, 2011 he married Crystal (Reyna) DeLeon and she survives.

Eduardo loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed classic rock music and was an avid OSU football and Chicago Bears fan. Eduardo was a 1984 graduate of Defiance High School where he wrestled on the district and state levels.

Eduardo is also survived by children, Josefina (Ruben) DeLeon Valle, Tracy DeLeon Scott, Emilio DeLeon, Victor DeLeon all of Defiance, Irene DeLeon, Eduardo DeLeon Jr., Christian DeLeon, Larissa DeLeon, and Jose Reyna all of Toledo, and a grandson, Jeremiah DeLeon. Also surviving are sister, Norma (Candelario, Jr.) Valenzuela, of Defiance, brothers, Jose G. (Maricela) DeLeon of Archbold, Gonzalo DeLeon of Ft. Wayne, IN, Gerardo DeLeon of Columbus, and Ricardo DeLeon of Defiance.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Eduardo (Perez) DeLeon.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 2, 2014 from 1-6 p.m. at the Schaffer Funeral Home,Defiance where funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Vincente Cantu officiating .
