Obituary

Edna Mae Halsey Long, 93, of Oakwood, passed away on  June 1, 2013 at the Defiance area CHP.

She was born on August 21, 1919 to Joseph and Laura  (Coffman) McCowan in Commiskey, IN. She married Herchel Halsey, then Carl Long who both preceded her in death as well as a companion Paul Carwile.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, was formerly a nurses aid, and did hair and make up at a funeral home in Indiana. She enjoyed and loved her family & pets.

Edna is survived by her son, Larry (Sherry) Halsey of Garret, IN, son, Woody (Sandy) Halsey of Woodburn, IN, son, Leroy Halsey of New Haven, IN, son, Joe (Ella) Halsey of Butler, IN, son, Ray (Tuesday) Halsey of Syracuse, IN, son, Tony (Heather) Halsey of Garret, IN, daugher ,Janie (Robert) Craft of Albion, IN, daughter Mary (Troy) Grant of Oakwood, OH, 26 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, 9 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by father, Joseph McCowan, mother, Laura Coffman, daughter, Janet  Durham, daughter-in-law, Kathy  Halsey, granddaughter, Shawn Halsey, great-grandson, Brandon Duncan, 6 brothers, 1 sister.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 03, 2013 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, 11:00 am at the Schaffer Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.
