Edna L Wellman, 93, of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday,  August 29, 2012 at the Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.    She was born on January 11, 1919 to Henry and Eda (Grogg) Hill in Defiance, OH.  She married George S. Wellman, Jr. on March 31, 1940 and he passed away on February 2, 1994.

Surviving her  are her daughter, Peggy S Cline of Defiance, OH, granddaughters, Angela (Jon) Gathman of Defiance, OH,  Kristi (Marvin) Speiser of Defiance, OH,  Melissa (Ron) Hammersmith of Defiance, OH, Melinda Cline of Defiance, OH, and 8 great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, John & Jay Hill, sisters, Lorina Miller and Hazel Layne.

Edna was a member of First Baptist Church.  She worked at the Value Dress Shop and Bradford Restaurant in Defiance.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home.     Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Rev. Tim Harlos officiating.  Burial will take place in Riverview Memory Gardens.  Memorials are suggested to the Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.
