Earl  Rose, 77, of Defiance, passed away on  Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.  He was born on March 9, 1937 to Hiram and Manie (Childers) Rose in Pikeville, KY.

On May 9, 1970 he married Ellen Ruth (Gilbert) Rose.

Earl is survived by his loving spouse of 44 years, Ellen of Defiance, OH, children, Iris (Dan) Church of Morenci, MI, Earl Douglas (Kathy) Rose of Defiance, OH, Mike (Tonya) Rose of Defiance, OH, Wayne (Angie) Rose of Jonesville, MI, Joey (Carol) Rose of Jonesville, MI, Tammy (Allen) Springborn of Pittsford, MI, Roger Rose (Mariah Williams) of Jonesville, MI, many grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, siblings, Finis (Loraine) Rose of Lookout, KY, Crit (Debbie) Rose of Defiance, OH, Christine Starns of Sparta, TN, Evelyn Gibson of Sparta, TN, and Ella Mae McCary of Lookout, KY, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father, Hiram Rose, mother, Manie Rose, brothers; Whirley, Alvin, & Langley Rose, sisters; Reba  Branham, Josephine Smith, Alene Ratliff, and Ima Patrick.

Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Aug 2, at 3 pm at the Bluegrass Opry
