Dr. Robert A. "Bob" Kohl, age 79 of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday evening, June 3, 2026 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 3, 1947 to the late Albert and Mildred (Lorch) Kohl. He proudly served in the U.S. Army ROTC. On October 18, 2013 he was united in marriage to Roger Hook, who survives.

Bob attended St. Isidore Catholic Church. He dedicated many years teaching Economics and Statistics at The Defiance College and retired as Professor Emeritus. Bob was an avid contributor to the editorials in The Crescent News. He was a very talented painter and he enjoyed gardening, reading, and playing guitar. Bob will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

Bob is survived by his loving husband Roger Hook of Defiance, his sister Carol Pribila, one nephew and three nieces.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 10:30 am to 11:00 am at St. Isidore Catholic Church-The Bend. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am at the church, with Fr. Melwin D'Souza officiating. Bob will be laid to rest in St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery-The Bend.
