Doug Siler Douglas William Siler, 71, of Defiance, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Fulton County Health Center E/R in Wauseon. He was born August 24, 1946 in Defiance, Ohio to the late William and Marjorie (Lloyd) Siler. On September 10, 1971 he married Lois Zimmerman Siler who survives. Doug was a 1964 graduate of Jewell High School, the last graduating class at Jewell. Doug's interests were auctions and antique tractor shows. He was a life member of the Defiance Eagles, Bryan Moose, National Rifle Association, Defiance County Fish and Game and Defiance County Humane Society. Doug worked at Dinner Bell Foods in Archbold until its closure. He worked 17 1/2 years at Behrmann Burial Service where he retired from on July 27, 2012. Doug spent his retirement years," farming for fun" as he called it! Doug served his country in the Army from 1966 - 1968. Doug will be greatly missed by his spouse of 46 years, Lois, and sisters Sue (Tom) Boesling and Sally (Tim) Bader. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17 at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with Father John Stites officiating. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Lawson-Roessner. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery where VFW Post # 3360 will conduct honorary military graveside rites.
