Dorwin "Tom"  Donley Jr., 81, of Defiance, passed away on  Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the CHP Defiance Area In-patient Hospice Center.

He was born on July 12, 1932 to Dorwin Sr.and Sylvia (Martin) Donley in Napoleon.  On October 8, 1955 he married Kathryn Froelich, who survives.

Tom was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Auglaize Country Club, White Pines Country Club and the UAW #211.  He was an avid golfer and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, daughters, Patricia (Joe) Meyer of CA, Mary (Ed) Herman of Toledo, Beth Donley of Huntington, IN, Rita Donley of Akron, grandchildren, Eric, Stephen,, Katie, Sarah,, Emily, Roni, and Jo, great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Ashlynn and Jareck, and a sister, Janet (Paul) Miller of Defiance.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margaret Goodfriend, brothers, Leo & Elmer Donley.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home,  Defiance.  A vigil service will be held at 2 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Todd Dominique officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Riverview Memory Gardens mausoleum.

The family request memorials be directed to the Holy Cross School or to a charity of the donor's choice.
