Dorothy H. Humbert, 92, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance.

She was born on December 2, 1924 to John and Helen (Helfrich) Williamson in Brunersburg, Ohio. On January 22, 1946 she married Oran "Barney" Humbert, who preceded her in death on February 25, 1980.

Dorothy was a member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, Defiance Hospital Auxiliary, and a lifetime auxiliary member of  Defiance Eagles #372 for 74 years,  and an auxiliary member of Defiance VFW #3360.  Dorothy was very social, and she enjoyed going to the Defiance Senior Center, and playing bingo.

Dorothy will be missed by her daughter, Nancy Humbert of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, and son, Ernie (Donna) Humbert of Toledo, seven grandchildren, eighteen  great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oran "Barney" M. Humbert, daughter, Helen "Sue" Hoover, and brother, John G. Williamson.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday,  June 23, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral  Home,  with Pastor Lee Genter officiating. Burial will follow the service at Brunersburg Cemetery.
