Dorothy Helton Thompson Dorothy J. Helton Thompson, 69, of Defiance, passed away Wednesday, August 15th, 2012 in her home. She was born in Grundy, Virginia on March 17, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Lauchey and Violet (Lester) Helton. Dorothy lived in Defiance since 1954 and had worked at G.M. Central Foundry. She attended Faith Tabernacle for over 40 years and was a member of the Defiance Regional Hospital Auxiliary. On Oct. 14, 1997, she married John Thompson who survives. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her husband John and family, daughters: Violet Carol DeVault of Defiance, Amy Lynn DeVault of Defiance, Callistia (Mike) Pipis of Monroe, Mich. sons: Wayne (Jacque) DeVault of Paulding, Richard (Suzette) DeVault of Sherwood, John Eric (Charlene) Thompson of Indiana, Toby (Jayme) Thompson of Kentucky, sisters: Ella Mae Brock of Napoleon, and Maggie VanDyke of Dublin, Oh. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and her bloved Shih tzu dog Ginger. Preceded in death by her parents and a brother Foye Helton. Services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 16th, with Rev .Burnnel Hammons officiating. Visitation is Thursday 2-4 before services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home.
