Doris M. Maag Doris M. Maag, 79, of Defiance, passed away Monday, May 24th, 2010 at the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born in Bay City, Michigan on April 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Avallia (Larkin) Royal. On Sept. 26, 1953, Doris married Robert "Duke" Maag who died March 2, 2009. She had worked as a bookkeeper at Derrow Motor Sales, Bolley Auto Sales and Batt and Stevens Body Shop . Doris had also worked in the family business, Maag's Cafe. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the VFW Auxiliary, Am Vets Auxiliary and was a University of Michigan fan. Doris enjoyed being involved with her children and grandchildren's activities and sports. She was also an avid golfer and bowler. Surviving are her loving daughter: Jeanne (Jeffrey) Batt of Defiance, son: Jeffery (Teresa) Maag of Defiance. She was grandma to 5 grandchildren: Stacy Bailey, Corey Batt, Jennifer Ort, Nicholas and Michelle Maag. 4 great grandchildren: Logan, Kayla, Bryce and Brock Bailey. Preceded in death her beloved husband Robert "Duke" Maag, four brothers: Richard, Robert, Wayne and Donnie Royal and her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Mary Catholic Church, Defiance, Oh. at 10:30 A:M on Thursday, May 27th, with Father Tim Kummerer officiating. Visitation is Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. with a 7:00 P:M Vigil Service Wednesday. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens.
