Doris L. Dietrich, 91, of Napoleon, formerly of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Alpine Village in Napoleon, Ohio. She was born on October 17, 1927 to Ray and Pearl (Drexler) Hull in Jewell, Ohio. In 1947 she married Wayne F. Dietrich, who preceded her in death in 2001.

Doris was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Florida, Ohio, Faith Lutheran Church in Sebring, Florida, and was a past member of The Community Memorial Legion Auxiliary #635 in Jewell. Doris attended Defiance College for two years, and served over  32 years as a dedicated Defiance County Deputy Auditor until her retirement in 1980.

Doris is survived by her nephew, Alan (Annette) Dietrich of Bryan, great-niece Melanie (Michael) Sheperd of Kalamazoo, MI, and great-nephews, Joshua Dietrich of Bryan, and Jeremiah Dietrich of Marysville, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne F. Dietrich, and infant sister, Marian Hull. Visitation will be held from 9-11 am on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Pastor Jacob Stuenkel officiating. Burial will follow the service at Independence Cemetery.
