Doris J. Harp Doris Jeannette Harp, 88, of Defiance, passed away Friday night, May 30th, 2014 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance. She was born in Miami, FL on July 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Mary M. (Roberts) Hearring. Doris was a very creative and talented artist, enjoyed painting and craft projects. She had worked as a licensed practical nurse in the area and at local nursing homes. Doris also was a caregiver to her family. She had sold Stanley products and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. Doris married Charles Harp March 25, 1948 and he died Dec. 1, 1998. She will be greatly missed by daughters: Bonnie Murch of Defiance, Patti Harp of Defiance son: Glenn Harp of Defiance 3 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles, sisters; Katherine Martin, Myrtle DeWitt, Marie Stewart and Virginia Munch. Services for Doris will be at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3rd, with Rev. Lonnie Musgrave officiating. Friends are invited to call Monday night from 6 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday 12 - 2 p.m. at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. Interment will be private at Lehman Cemetery in Payne, Ohio.
