Donna B.
(Wolf) Crockett
October 10, 1933 – June 16, 2025
Donna Bell (Wolf) Crockett passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, with her children by her side. She was born on October 10, 1933 in her grandparents home on Kinner Road near Ayersville to Alva and Florence (Blanchard) Wolf. She grew up in Pleasant Bend where there were lots of kids at that time. She had great memories of all the neighborhood fun they had, and always had someone to play with when she walked out the door. Donna attended Holgate High School and graduated in 1951. Shortly thereafter on July 21, 1951 she married Milo A. Crockett at the Emanuel Church parsonage in New Bavaria, Ohio. Milo and Donna moved into his parents home on the family farm and she became a farmer's wife, which was a whole new world! She began working at Ayersville School as a Kindergarten Aide in 1964 and became the Elementary Secretary until her retirement in 1994. Milo and Donna enjoyed being huge supporters of Ayersville School and all the sports programs. They also enjoyed traveling, especially on their farm tour trips with friends and Ayersville phone board meeting trips. Donna is a member of Ayersville Community Church.
Donna is survived by her son, Larry (Brenda) Crockett and daughter Peg (David) Rieke, five grandchildren, who were her favorite people, Shelby (Brian) Bratt, Brett (Rachelle) Rieke, Shane (Abi) Rieke, Jason Crockett and Janell Crockett, four great-grandchildren, Mila, Sydney, Garrett, and Logan Rieke, four nieces, and lifelong friends and card playing buddies, Bill and Dolores Rohn. Preceding her in death were her husband Milo in 2019, her parents Alva and Florence Wolf, brother Carroll Wolf, and twin brothers Terry and Perry in infancy.
The family first and foremost would like to thank CHP Defiance Hospice for their kind and professional care, not only to our mother but to our whole family. All of the staff treated and watched over us like family. And to the staff of Kingsbury House who cared for Mom this past year, we sincerely thank you also. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Ayersville Community Church. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at the church with Pastor Jason Vandemark officiating. Donna will be laid to rest in Ayersville Cemetery.
Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to CHP Defiance Area Hospice, Ayersville Community Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences can be given at www.Schafferfh.com
