Donna May Roddy, age 86 of Defiance, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on July 17, 1937 to the late William and Grace (Sharp) Elliott in Defiance, Ohio. On August 2, 1958 she married Robert E. Roddy Sr., who preceded her in death on April 29, 2016. Donna was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Defiance. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured her time taking care of her family. She enjoyed sewing, hunting for golf balls, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities. Donna will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Donna is survived by her sons, Robert E. Roddy Jr. and Rickie Roddy, both of Defiance, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her brothers, Donald (Mary) Elliott of Evansport, OH, and James (Heidi) Elliott of Lansing, Michigan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert, daughter Patricia McKenzie, great-grandson Brandon Roddy, sisters Juanita Henning and Ruby Conley, and her brothers William, Carl, and Duane Elliott. Visitation will be held Friday, March 22, 2024 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Meyers officiating. Donna will be laid to rest at Riverview Memory Gardens. Memorials are suggested to CHP Defiance Hospice Center, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
