Donna M. Swary, 86, of Defiance, passed away on  September 11, 2014 at the St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, OH.

She was born on November 16, 1927 to Paul H. and Dorothy M. (Badenhop) Meyer in Hamler, OH. On September 30, 1950 she married Leo Swary.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, Child Conservation League, and she volunteered in the Clothes Closet. She was a member of the New Bavaria Ladies Auxiliary post 8847. She was an avid bowler and a graduate of the Ft Wayne International  Business College.  She first worked at Owens-Illinois in Toledo, then at the General Motors Power Train in Defiance as a secretary for the plant manager, and then at the Stauffer-Andrews-Mendenhall Insurance Agency retiring in 1990.

Donna is survived by her loving spouse of 64 years Leo Swary of Defiance, OH, daughter, Shelly (Donald) Fry of Bryan, OH, step grandson, Nicholas Fry of Edgerton, OH, step grandson, Matthew (Amanda) Fry of FL, Step Great Grandson Hunter Fry of Edgerton,and one Step Great Granddaughter on the way,  brother, Paul (Mary) Meyer of Saginaw, MI, friend, Judy Lockwood of Dayton, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Betty Schroeder & Judith Meyer.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 15, 2014 10:00 am - 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, Ohio.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014, 11:00 am at the St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, Ohio, with Rev. Donald L Luhring, officiating.  Entombment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.
