Donelda J. Becher Donelda J. Becher, 82, of Defiance, died Monday, November 30th, 2009 at Defiance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Hamler, OH on March 19, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Justinger) Gutman. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #3360. She was a homemaker and had worked as a waitress at the Cozy Corner where she met her husband Dan. Donelda married Daniel J. Becher May 5, 1951 and he died Aug. 17, 1999. Surviving are daughters: Pamela (Leroy) Gibson of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Dianna (James) Zipfel of Defiance. sons: Daniel Becher and Michael Becher both of Defiance. brother: Forest (Norma) Gutman of Dayton. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Stacy Kennedy, Hans Zipfel, Fritz Zipfel, Danny Becher, Jamie Horwath, Cathy Hohenbeger, Kallahan Becher and Kamden Becher, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband, four brothers Bernard, Richard and Paul Gutman and her twin brother Donald Gutman, five sisters Gertrude Creasy, Margaret Schwieger, Delores Leopold, Pauline Hesselschwardt and Betty McDonald. and a grandson Shannon Becher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Mary Catholic Church, at 11:00 A:M on Thursday, December 3rd, with Father Tim Kummerer officiating. Friends are invited to call Wednesday 2-5 & 7-9 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home where there will be a Rosary Service at 8:00 P:M. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens.
