Donald P. Osborn, age 86 of Defiance, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022 at his home in Defiance, Ohio. Don was born on September 3, 1936 to the late Ralph and Irma (Kerber) Osborn in Defiance. On July 16, 1983 he married Carolyn (Becker) Osborn, who preceded him in death on January 15, 2003. Don worked for several years at S&K Tools in Defiance until his retirement. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and going to the casino. He loved helping his children with home-improvements and projects, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Don treasured his time spent with his family, and he will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends. Don is survived by his son, Steven Osborn of Ohio City, OH, three daughters; Becky (Tim) Roehrs of South Carolina, Suzan (Rick) Lloyd of Stryker, OH, and Amy Lynn Proctor of Van Wert, OH, and his stepchildren; Chris Bergman of Defiance, Carrie (Tony) Homier of Defiance, and Carleen Bergman of Indianapolis, IN. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren; Taytum Cochran, Lynn Miller, Nick Lloyd, Kevin Osborn, Keli Pontius, Roman Osborn, Kalena Osborn, Cody Osborn, Amber Proctor, Autum Moore, and Angel Proctor, his step-grandchildren; Austen Homier, Mallory Tietje, Kyler Gillespie, Klay Bergman, and Kelcee (Armando) Ramirez, 17 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Betty Schackow of Ayersville, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, his brother, Robert Osborn, his stepson, Curt Bergman, and sisters; Glena Peffley, Thelma Flory, Margaret Kruse, and Barbara Eitniear. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Hasselbring officiating. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association.
