Donald W. Lucas, 75, of Defiance, passed away on  Monday, May 25, 2015 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on September 9, 1939 to Cletus and Helen (Deitrick) Lucas in Defiance, Ohio. On July 8, 1961 he married Ruth Ann (Coffman) Lucas, who survives. Donald was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Defiance, and a member of  Defiance Eagles FOE #372. He worked at Napoleon Lynx in Archbold until his retirement in 2008. He was the owner/operator of Lucas & Sons Body Shop and Towing, Lucas Car Sales in Defiance, and Waterfront Inn Restaurant. Since his retirement, he owned and operated D & J's Mowing Service. Donald enjoyed riding his 4-Wheeler with his dog "Tasha". Donald is survived by his loving spouse of 53 years, wife Ruth Ann Lucas of Defiance, sons, Matthew Lucas and Michael Lucas, both of Defiance, daughter, Melissa (Mark) Singer of Winter Garden, Florida, 7 Grandchildren, and 6 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Helen Lucas, 1 Great-grandchild, and daughter-in-law, Terri Lucas. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Janet Strickland officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family.
