Donald Lehman, 86, of Defiance passed away on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at his winter home in Mt. Dora, Florida. Don was born in Defiance on April 4, 1929 to Sam and D'Nell (Spangler) Lehman. On September 11, 1948 he married Joanne Cromley and she survives.
Don was a lifelong farmer in Tiffin Twp. and a truck driver for Dinner Bell Foods for over 40 years. He enjoyed driving his semi to haul crops and was an avid ground hog hunter.
Don was a member of the Evansport United Methodist Church. He was a little league baseball coach for many years and enjoyed watching almost any sporting event especially the Tinora Rams. Don enjoyed watching his daughters show horses and especially time spent with his own horses. He was a regular attendant at the Defiance County Fair where he enjoyed watching kids show their projects. Don also loved flea markets and going to auctions. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Also surviving are four children Sue (Hal Stevenson) Woolace, Cindy (Don) Gattis, Sam (Rhonda) Lehman, and Sara (Ken Woolard) Patterson; five grandchildren Brady (Dawn) Woolace, Jill (Jason) Cozza, Sadie (Bryan) Martin, Sam Lehman and Devin Patterson; and three great grandchildren Kristian Woolace, Jackson Cozza, and Easton Martin.
Visitation will be on Friday April 17, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at the Schaffer funeral Home, Defiance where funeral services will be held Saturday April 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Becky Ploughe officiating. Burial will follow at the Evansport Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the Tinora High School Athletic Dept.
