Donald "Donnie" Raymond Dodson, Jr., 64, of Defiance, passed away on  Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Brookview Healthcare Center, Defiance.

He was born on April 22, 1949 to Donald and Edna (Champion) Dodson in Defiance.  On July 16, 1999 Donald  married Connie (Hostettler) Dodson.

He retired from Johns Manville and was a member of the Eagles and the Moose.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Connie, son, Kelly Dodson of Defiance, daughters, Tina (Tom) Mayes of Van Wert, Kerrie (Brian) Tressler of Ayersville, Alicia (Shane) Bishop of Continental, stepson, Jason (Desiree) Gaylord of Columbus, stepdaughter, Megan Smith of Defiance, numerous beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, sister, Dick (Judy) Shawver of Defiance, half-brother, Eugene Dodson of Columbus, and a half-sister, Brandy (Don) Burditt of Napoleon,

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Donna Theis, and a nephew, Kenny Theis.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2013, at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Donnally officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

The family suggest memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to St. Paul United Methodist Food Pantry.
