Dolores M. Jacob, age 98 of Defiance, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Glenn Park of Defiance. She was born on May 29, 1924 to the late Frederick and Louise (Kolb) Wonderly in Defiance, Ohio. Dolores was a 1942 graduate of Mark Center High School. On April 22, 1950 she married Francis "Jake" Jacob who preceded her in death.

Dolores was a faithful member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and was active with the Altar Rosary Society. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she treasured her time spent with her family. She was also known by her extended family as "Aunt Spark". Along with a life of volunteering with many organizations, Dolores was a machine operator at General Electric in Ft Wayne, Indiana during WWII. She also assisted her husband in business at Jacob's Meats and later in farming. She completed her formal career at the Farm Service Agency in Defiance. Dolores will be sadly missed by her children; Michele (Jack) Speiser of Defiance, Patricia (James) Guisinger of Wheatfield, IN, John (Margaret) Jacob of Defiance, Jill (Rob) Brown of Hicksville, OH, David Jacob of Sherwood, OH, James (Christine) Jacob of Sherwood, OH, and Michael (Tonya) Jacob of Coshocton, OH. She also leaves behind 25 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband Jake, she was preceded in death by two sons; Robert and Joseph Jacob, her grandson Randy Jacob, and four brothers; Arthur, Donald, James and Kenneth Wonderly. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Monday, August 29, 2022 at St. Isidore Catholic Church-Delaware Bend, with Fr. Melwin Dsouza officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Stephen's Catholic  Cemetery, The Bend. Memorials are suggested to Defiance Area Foundation, or to St. Isidore Catholic Church for Masses.
