Dolores (Louys) Ryan of Defiance, Ohio passed away Friday March 27, 2026 at the Laurels in Defiance.

She was born on September 13, 1928 to G.J.P. Louys and Florence (Plas) Louys. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. On August 29, 1949, Dolores married Daniel James Ryan.

Dolores graduated from Defiance High School and received her teaching degree from Defiance College. She started in Sherwood, Ohio, and finished her career in Ayersville.

Dolores is survived by her six children, Mike (Laurie), Cathy (Larry) Birkemeier, Jim (Syliva) of Fort Wayne In., Steve, Tom (Betty) of Lorena, Texas, and Matt of Bryan. She has many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, a grandchild, one brother, Gerald, three sisters, Ann, Dorothy and Audrey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday April 1, 2026 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior at 10:00 am at the church. Dolores will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's food pantry or Heartland Hospice.
