Dolores M. Metz, 80, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance. She was born on October 23, 1937 to Norman and Bessie (Laughery) Hartman in Grapeville, PA. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Dolores will be sadly missed by her three sons, Randy (Sue) Metz of Edgerton, George (Sandi) Metz of Ney, and Tim (Barb) Metz of Ft. Wayne, IN, daughter, Marsha Sherick of Michigan, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brothers, Norman Hartman, Jr. of Dayton, and William Hartman of Toledo, sisters, Emma Jean "Lil" Fox of Dayton, Dorothy Metz of Bowling Green, Sue Doty of Toledo, and Ann Kalell of Grand Rapids, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Hamann and Sandy Venier, and two grandchildren, Derik and Erin Metz. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Deb Miller officiating. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
