Born Esteban Rodolfo Romero, November 21, 1965 to the late Reynaldo J. Romero Jr. and Esperanza Jimenez in Lima, Ohio and departed this Earth known as Desiree Luv, on January 10, 2014.

Desiree spent the last 17 years in Kansas City, Missouri entertaining her devoted fans on many stages. She was the current reigning Queen of Miss USA Classic and Miss Kansas City Black Pride. She enjoyed volunteering her time with AMFAR helping to raise over half a million dollars for HIV research. She also belonged to the committees of Kansas City Black Pride and Kansas City Diverse Coalition. Desiree was an advocate and was a huge voice in the gay community of Kansas City. She will be missed by so many who loved her and had the utmost respect for her.

Desiree leaves behind her mother; Esperanza Romero of Defiance, OH, daughter; Christina Romero, and three grandchildren; Reyna, Alex, and Ashlynn of Napoleon, OH, sisters; Rebecca (Melvin) Banks-Romero, Maria-Isabel (Christopher) Williams, Cory-Rawson OH, brother; Reynaldo J. (Stephanie) Romero III, nieces; Andraeu Romero & Taylor Young, Leila & Kassidy Williams, nephews; Ronnie (Ashley) Romero, Francisco Page, Dominique & Noah Romero.  Great Nieces Aaliyah Romero and Isabel Young.  Great-nephews Quintin Romero & Harlyn Young, & special great-niece Jocelynn Romero. Also surviving are beloved friends John (Flo) Koop, Gary Carrington, & Korea Gleason-Kelly, and Eric Trotter.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, and brother-in-laws Melvin Banks & James Young.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17th 2014 from 11:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, OH.

Memorials in Desiree's name may be left to the family under Rebecca Romero's name.
