Obituary

Delvin "Del" Chupa, a beloved resident of Defiance, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024. Born on November 10, 1955, in Gowanda, New York, to Anthony and Betty Chupa, Del was known for his kind heart, unwavering generosity, and dedication to his community.

Del spent his life nurturing relationships and making a positive impact on everyone he met. He was a proud and loving father to his sons, Brian, Chris, and Brandon Chupa, who remember him as a guiding light, always ready with advice, a comforting word, or a humorous anecdote to brighten their days. Del's love for his family extended to his eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, who will forever hold his stories and lessons close to their hearts.

Del was a member of Crossroads of Napoleon, where he was actively involved with the Men's Group, setting up and inviting others to attend. His passion for helping others was evident, and he was always the first to lend a hand or an encouraging word to those in need.

In his professional life, Del was a logistics expert and the owner-operator of DC Express. He was respected and admired by his colleagues for his hard work, integrity, and dedication. He was not only a reliable and skilled worker but also a mentor to many, always willing to share his knowledge and experience.

Del had a love for many things, especially farm life, hunting, fishing, traveling, and most of all, riding his Harleys with his friends and family. His friends and family fondly remember the many gatherings where his warmth and humor were the highlights of the occasion.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Betty Chupa, and his sister-in-law, Tina Chupa. He is survived by his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of Del's life will be held at Schaffer Funeral Home, 529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH, visiting hours on Thursday, July 18th from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 19th at 11:00 AM with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Friends and family will gather to honor his memory and share stories of the joy and love he brought into their lives.

Del will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will love on in the hearts of those he touched.
