Delores Boyer, 78, of Defiance passed away, Saturday afternoon, August 18, 2012 in the Defiance Regional Medical Center. She had been a resident of Twin Rivers for the past 13 years.

She was born October 1, 1933 in Okolona and was the daughter of Alfred and Theresa (Skiver) Bruns.

Delores is survived by her husband of 59 years Bruce Boyer, whom she married on October
18, 1953. She is also survived by four sons; Gary (Linda) Boyer, Dave and Frank Boyer all of Defiance, Michael (Rhonda) Boyer of Ney, a daughter Linda Boyer of Shelbyville, Tennessee, 5 Grandchildren; Scott (Tracy) Boyer, Wendy (Scott)
Weller, Jana (Dan) Yost, Adam (Eleesa) Boyer and Amy Boyer, 6 Great Grandchildren and one on the way, two sisters; Millie Bruns of Napoleon and Ruth Ann Fry of Wauseon, two brothers; Ronnie (Lil) Bruns of Napoleon and
Alfred Jr. (Sue) Bruns of Okolona.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Mary Lou Tabor.

Delores worked at Bargain City as a fabric dept. manager from 1965-1970, owned her own
doll business and sewed for people out of her house. She was a homemaker and was a very active member of the Defiance Church of the Nazarene. Delores taught Sunday school, worked in the church library, helped with vacation bible school, held a lay ministers license and led bible studies at area nursing homes.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm in the Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 11AM in the Defiance Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Donald Leonard officiating.

Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.
