Obituary

Debra J. Wisner, 71, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.

Debra was born on October 11, 1954, in Angola, Indiana, the daughter of Claude Wisner and Eloise Anstett.

Debra had an adventurous spirit and a love for experiencing life. She lived abroad for several years and traveled extensively during that time, embracing the opportunity to experience different places and cultures.

Debra spent her career in healthcare, from working as a registered nurse to providing home healthcare. Caring for others was more than a profession to Debra; it was part of who she was. She genuinely loved helping people and was always willing to give her time, compassion, and support to someone in need. She carried a positive attitude toward life and shared that positivity with those around her.

Above all, Debra was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. "I love my babies" was a phrase that captured just how much her family meant to her, and nothing brought her more pride than the family that grew around her. She is survived by her son, Keith (Regina) Parsons, her seven grandchildren, Tayler (Antonio), Dylan (Paige), Coty, Selena (Kaleb), Aiden, Donnie (Draya), and Kyren (Madison); and her 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Wisner and Eloise Anstett, her sister, Nancy Spencer, and her eldest child, Chris Parsons.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with services following at 6:00 pm.

Debra's legacy lives on through the family she loved, the people she cared for throughout her years in healthcare, and the many lives she touched along the way. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
