Debra Sue Shirk, 66, of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at St. Rita's Mercy Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 31, 1955 to William and Janice (Mohler) Leonard in Defiance, Ohio. Deb was a 1972 graduate of Defiance High School. On June 8, 1973 she married Richard Shirk who survives. Deb was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She treasured her time spent with her family and especially with her grandchildren. Deb was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Deb will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 48 years, Richard Shirk of Defiance, her children; Michael Shirk, Laurie (Bryan) Elford and Andrew Shirk, all of Defiance, her grandchildren; Taylor (Giovany) Estrada-Guerrera, Peyton Shirk, Alyssa Mosier, Ashtyn and Tristan (Morgan) Aden, Damian, Darian, Braylan, and Brysan Elford, and Trinity Shirk, her great-grandchildren; Emma and Rosalie Aden, Oliver and Olivia Estrada-Guerra, and Brayden Call. She also leaves behind her siblings; Steve (Brenda) Leonard, Jeff (Jane) Leonard, Bev (Paul) Long, Chris (Todd) Behnfeldt, Sandi (James) Morris, and Sandra (Larry) McKeen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Cadyn Salay, and daughter-in-law, Ellyn Shirk. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Kaufman officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Ft.
