Debra K. Crawford, age 70 of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at St. Anne Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, after a brief illness. She was born on February 13, 1954 to the late Dewey and Norma Jean (Smith) Ordway in Defiance, Ohio. She married Larry Crawford in 1991.

Deb lived and worked in Madison, Wisconsin after graduating from Defiance High School. She returned to Defiance and worked at Spangler Candy Company for eight years and then at Filling Home of Mercy for a few years. Deb worked as a cashier for Rite Aid until her retirement in 2018. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed horticulture, gardening, and landscaping. She loved her plants and flowers, and watching the birds. Deb was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who treasured her time spent with her family, especially her two children and granddaughters. Deb is survived by her loving husband, Larry Crawford of Napoleon, daughter, Melanie (Greg) Parsons of Defiance, son, Cody (Katherine) Schuette of Spring Lake, NC, granddaughters, Alena Brooks of Defiance and Mia Schuette of Spring Lake, NC, and her sister, Vicki (Allan) Burt of Oakwood, Ohio. She will also be sadly missed by her cats, Cheeto and Bear. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Cindy Smith and Julie Ordway. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance, with Pastor Kurt Mews officiating. Memorials are suggested to Ft. Defiance Humane Society.
