Deborah "Deb" Kay Cooper, 54, of Defiance, passed away on  July 29, 2013 at the Ft. Wayne, IN.

She was born on October 20, 1958 to Thomas and Buela (Schmidt) Mohr in Winchester, IN, On August 5, 1978 she married Mark Lee Cooper in Springerton, IL. Deb and Mark lived in Defiance, Ohio. As a pastors wife, Deb spent several years ministering in various congregations with Mark. She also did daycare for local families in the early years.

She was employed as teacher's aide at Defiance City Schools and was known to make dog bone cookies on Thursday nights for the football team through out her son's school years. Deb also participated with the children's ministries at the Defiance Church of the Nazarene.

Deb is survived by her loving spouse of 35 years, Mark, parents, Thomas (Buela Mae) Mohr of Ft Wayne, IN, sons; John (Chandra) Cooper of Napoleon, OH, Joshua (Brandy) Cooper of Ft. Wayne, IN, James Cooper of Defiance, OH, Jared Cooper of Reynoldsburg, OH, 5 grandchildren, and a brother, Tim (Kara) Mohr of Grants Pass, OR.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Mohr.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013, 11:00 am at the Church of the Nazarene, Defiance, Ohio, with Pastor Donald Leonard, officiating.

Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
